Familiedag

Norbord Genk held a "Family Day" and of course we attended. It was actually back in November, but I just recently received pictures taken at the event. It was amazing how many family members of each employee attended to tour the facility where their loved one spends their days and/or nights. The event was so well organized and completely put together by the facility employees.

The "Family Day" events we've attended in the past didn't seem to have the same appeal as it has here and were not always well attended. It was nice to see the interest and enthusiasm for this one.

Naturally, we wish our family members could have accompanied us, but we were happy to see others get to show off their children, grandchildren, spouse, and some even brought their parents.

This was the first time I'd seen an OSB facility so it was all new to me too.

Concentrating on not falling down :)

This is the "tent", but it was pretty serious for a tent.

The control room.

The wood yard.

Those big wheels are full of OSB panels.

The finished product.
Notice how clean this place is!

The event was nice. Really nice.

  1. You look so cute in a hard hat and that tent is awesome! Actually back in our home town the glass plant picnics were huge and well attended by family. I remember wishing my Dad worked there so I could go! I don't know if it is still the case.

Jim said it is like the plants he visited in Mexico....CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN. He was always very impressed, too.
