Bakkerij

Bakery.

In an earlier post, I mentioned the numerous bakeries and the delicious baked goods sold here. And sweet stuff isn't all they sell. Bread, bread, and more brood and we've tried to eat our share of it.

I also mentioned bread doesn't come sliced, nor does it stay fresh as long as loaves of bread in the States. But it's delicious, there are too many varieties to count, and it's not too expensive so we usually buy a loaf about every other day! These are two of our favorites - rustic and just plain white.

And if you do want it sliced, every bakery and grocery store has these nifty brood slicers. Here, an experienced brood slicer.

And here, Jim on his first brood-slicing attempt. Thanks, Jim for letting me do the filming and not the slicing :)

Uhhh . . . best thing since sliced bread?
