The Arches

This street is called The Mall.
You can see Admirality Arch in the distance.

And here it is close up.
Admirality Arch

This arch is actually an office building between the Mall and Trafalgar Square. It was commissioned by King Edward VII in memory of his mother Queen Victoria.

The Latin inscription reads
In the tenth year of King Edward VII, to Queen Victoria, from most grateful citizens, 1910

This street is Constitution Hill.
You can see Wellington Arch in the distance.

And here it is close up.
Wellington Arch

This arch, built between 1826-1830, is located to the south of Hyde Park. The Wellington Arch commemorate the British victories in the Napoleonic Wars.

The bronze sculpture is the angel of peace descending on the chariot of war. It is the largest bronze sculpture in Europe.

Marble Arch

This arch, located to the north of Hyde Park, was originally built as the gateway to the new Buckingham Palace. In 1851 it was moved to its present location.

Honestly, I have no idea what this arch is.
I just thought it was nice.
