And the winner is . . .

Ross is here in Belgium and has been accepted to study at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, otherwise known as KULeuven. He'll be pursuing his Master of Business Economics.

Congratulations, Ross! We are very proud :)

You may remember a previous post I did after visitingLeuven, but to refresh your memory . . . the university has approximately 37,000 students and is the oldest existing Catholic university in the world, founded in 1425. It ranks among the top 100 universities in the world too. And consider there are close to 18,000 universities worldwide! The university is literally all over the town of Leuven - not just one central campus. The photo below is the library.

Of course, a beautiful cathedral.

This is the Town Hall (Stadhuis). The detail is really hard to capture.

Leuven is 20 minutes from Brussels and only an hour from Hasselt, but Ross will have his own apartment in Leuven. Correction, Ross now has his own apartment inLeuven. After he spent several days researching options on the internet, we spent a day visiting the potential apartments.

And the winner is . . .

He's excited about it and we are too. It's only a block from the beautiful library pictured above, yet it seemed to be a fairly quiet corner and . . . it's over a bakery. Can you pass that up?

The city of Leuven has embraced its students and the student life. Anywhere you mention Leuven, the first thing that comes to mind is the university and the students. Not even InBev trumps KULeuven as the most renowned landmark. And that's saying a lot when Belgian beer is involved.
