Stihl (chainsaws) sponsors an event called Timbersports. It's where guys (didn't see any women) compete in several events requiring an axe, or a saw, or of course, a chainsaw. The winning lumberjacks move on to the next competition and finally the world championship somewhere, some time.
Since this preliminary event was close by, naturally, we decided to attend.
Here's one of the chopping events. This guy is from Belgium and surely that guy taking pictures is a family member. Seems to me he's standing awfully close. Less than a minute seems like such a long time.
One of the "sawers" from the Netherlands. This is extra impressive 'cause this guy is 51 years old! And he not only sawed. He chopped and chainsawed too.
